Blogcritics: Who Knew?
So I drop by Blogcritics a few minutes ago to see who's saying what and there it is: I'm the "Blogcritic of the Day." Wow...
Better Living Through Blogging...
I'm trying to remember how I first came across Blogcritics. I think it was from seeing a button on someone's blog and clicking through. As memory serves, they were celebrating their 10-millionth hit or something equally impressive. I read for a while then figured that as long as I was posting on this blog I might as well put a few of the posts on Blogcritics, too.
I'm relatively new to blogging and this blog has evolved, and continues to evolve, regularly. It started on Blogger but moved to TypePad because I wanted to add "categories" so people would have options for finding things besides the calendar. I'm working with a friend to re-design even this version.
If you're interested, here's a listing where you can actually see everything that's on this blog. Happy hunting.
There's also a fair amount of bio stuff on this blog, but the quick version is that I'm a screenwriter who's worked primarily in TV, but also in features. The strangest question I always get is: "What have you done that I've seen?" It's strange because what you've seen may not be what I consider to be my best work but, hey, I accept the challenge. Things that people have seen go back to L.A. Law and Lois & Clark in TV and include Mortal Kombat: Annihilation and working on Atlantis: The Lost Empire in features. Projects I'm most proud about include creating the NBC series Dark Skies and writing an unproduced Lewis & Clark script for Warner Brothers. Currently, I have The Poseidon Adventure on TV on November 20, and a Blackbeard mini-series coming out in June and I'm still involved with Fall From Grace, a story about a sex scandal based on the 2005 Pulitzer Prize for Investigative Journalism. I was also the chairman of the TV Academy during 9/11 which makes me the guy who cancelled the Emmys twice that year. Back to blogging...
News! -- Views! -- & Schmooze is, basically, just what the title says. Sometimes I'll write Hollywood insider stuff, but I'm just as likely to write about something personal. Whatever I write, this one is definitely my flagship blog but I use a couple of specialty blogs as "feeder" sites.
Movie Smackdown pits a film out in the theaters against a related film out on DVD and declares a winner. A recent example would be a post that put Serenity in a head-to-head match up with the original Star Wars.
Instant History excerpts portions of Time and Newsweek magazine from major events and lets people read how they were covered at the time. Most recent posts include the O.J. Verdict and the Death of John Lennon.
Anyway, I want to thank Blogcritics for introducing so many new people to this blog, and to thank you for clicking through and coming by for a visit. Hope to see you back again in the future. Fade out...
