Here are the updates on three active current projects -- The Poseidon Adventure, Blackbeard and Fall From Grace: The 30-Year Secret of Neil Goldschmidt --
A three-hour, one night, version of The Poseidon Adventure has been scheduled by NBC to air on Sunday November 20. It's a tough time slot -- going up against Desperate Housewives. Nobody's going to beat that show on its home field this year but it's still good counter-programming for NBC. The four-hour version will air soon after on the Hallmark Channel. I've seen the final cut and it looks very good. By the way, Poseidon airs in Australia on October 9. Click here for more project details.
Meanwhile, over in Thailand, Blackbeard has wrapped production after first rolling cameras on July 25 for an anticipated airing on the Hallmark Channel in June 2006. The unflappable veteran Kevin Connor directed this Larry Levinson Production for Hallmark Entertainment. According to Kevin, it was, pardon the pun, pretty much smooth sailing. There's new energy in the battle to film Fall From Grace: The 30-Year Secret of Neil Goldschmidt. This project -- based on a political sex scandal which earned the journalist who exposed it the 2005 Pulitzer Prize -- was bought by the USA Network over a year ago. The final draft had the enthusiastic support of the executives we developed it with. Unfortunately, since being bought by NBC at around the same time we sold the movie to USA, the network has decided to make no more movies, concentrating only on limited series and series. We now, however, have the rights to sell the project to another buyer, either in TV, or an indie film and we plan to. This is not a story you give up on. Click here for more details.
So that's the rundown. Naturally, there's ten other things in the pipeline and I'm working on those now. Later...
