- Okay... the Ducks lost to the Trojans. It was like watching two separate games. In the first half, it was Oregon 13-10 over USC. In the second half, it was USC 35-0 over Oregon. Fortunately, we have enough USC connections in our family that we can root for them, too.
- Just caught up on my TiVO. Lost took us into the hatch and I'm hooked again. Meanwhile, Battlestar Galactica wrapped up its season in a cliff-hanger that will have me back again in January. And Rome has drawn me into its web of politics. But where did all the major sex from the pilot episode go as the series continued? That's what made the show Sopranos for history buffs...
- With all the disaster coverage in the news lately, it's time to get the earthquake supplies around my house in better shape. Haven't really taken care of that since 1994 after the Northridge quake. Wouldn't want to have to eat that food or drink that water anytime soon.
- Saw the Eagles at Staples Center a few days ago, and really enjoyed the energy they brought to their show. It's clear (to me, at least) that they have long ago bumped the "Beach Boys" from that perch as the ultimate California band by never settling for nostalgia. Also, not to be too picky, but I thought the acoustics at the Staples Center were still not good, especially at the lower volumes. This was a complaint when they first opened, but I'd thought it was long since fixed.
